CircleBC’s Sustainable eWaste Pickup & Recycling Services

At CircleBC, we are committed to the protection of our environment and contributing to a greener future by supporting businesses across Australia with our sustainable eWaste management services. As a leading provider of IT, telecommunications, print management, web, and cyber security services, our team support hundreds of customers across Australia, who generate thousands of kilograms of eWaste per year, and we understand the environmental impact of electronic waste and the critical need for responsible disposal.

By 2030, Australia is predicted to generate close to 660 000 tonnes of eWaste, yet we are only recycling about 54% of our current eWaste. We noticed a concerning trend amongst our customers of dumping eWaste in bins or dumpsters, which is generally illegal according to both national and state waste management laws, as electronic waste is classified as hazardous and needs to be disposed of properly.

In NSW, there are penalties for individuals up to $250,000 and for business’ $1 million+, local council rules also prohibit disposal of electrical waste in household bins, due to fire risks and environment concerns. Every state has their own laws, and it is your responsibility as a business owner to be aware of them.

Wanting to provide better sustainability and an easy and trusted eWaste disposal solution to businesses was the driving force behind starting our eco-conscious eWaste pickup and drop-off service that ensures any obsolete and redundant electronic equipment filled with hazardous chemicals are handled with the utmost care, prioritising recycling and responsible disposal to minimise this waste ending up in our landfill.

Bulk eWaste Pickup Service for Businesses

We specialise in bulk corporate eWaste collection, making it easier for businesses to responsibly dispose of their electronic waste while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. Whether you are upgrading your IT infrastructure, replacing your telecommunications hardware, or decommissioning outdated office equipment, our eWaste pickup service provides a seamless solution for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint and adhere to sustainable waste management practices.

Our eWaste pickup and disposal service was initially set up to service our existing customers; however, due to increasing demand and the shortage of responsible electronics recycling options, we have now opened it up to other businesses looking for a reliable eWaste recycling partner.

What We Offer

For bulk or large pickups in the vicinity of our depots, we can offer a complimentary pickup service. For smaller loads, charges may apply depending on location and volume. It is not commercially viable for us to provide a free pickup service for single items such as a printer, PC, or monitor, so please save up your eWaste and we can organise a pickup that has more volume.

What eWaste Do We Collect?

CircleBC’s eWaste collection service is designed to accommodate a wide range of corporate and commercial electronic waste, ensuring maximum material recovery and recycling efficiency. We do not refurbish or reuse any of the eWaste collected from customers, everything we pick up is processed for recycling to extract valuable materials in an environmentally responsible way.

We do not purchase eWaste for resale or refurbishment purposes, we offer a recycling service and secure destruction service only.

IT & Office Equipment

  • Desktop Computers & Laptops – Essential for business operations, these devices store sensitive data and typically only have a short lifespan and typically reach obsolescence after 3 – 5yrs. When these devices are replaced or upgraded, we can recycle them, diverting hazardous chemicals from landfill and our waterways.
  • Servers, Data Storage Devices & Networking Hardware – Critical for IT infrastructure, these devices support cloud computing, network management, and enterprise data storage. Recycling prevents hazardous eWaste accumulation and ensures data security through secure destruction. We offer specific hard drive secure destruction, (cost per unit applies).
  • Data Centre Equipment – This includes rack-mounted servers, switches, power distribution units (PDUs), fans and cooling systems.
  • Monitors, Keyboards, Mice and Cables – Common office peripherals that you might be throwing in the bin without a second thought is all eWaste and can be responsibly recycled. We can also recycle old any charging cables, computer and monitor cables etc.
  • Printers, Copiers & Scanners – Widely used in office environments, these devices contain a lot of recyclable materials which require proper disposal to avoid environmental harm. If you have a large multi-function printer you are looking to recycle, we prefer if you were to bundle it up with your other eWaste and combine it for a larger pickup. We are happy to pick up a standalone multi-function printer, but charges will apply.
  • Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) & Battery Backups – Essential for preventing data loss during power outages, these units contain lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries that require specialised recycling to prevent hazardous waste contamination.

Telecommunications Equipment

  • Business Phone Systems and PBX Units – If your phone system is end of life or being upgraded, your Telco likely won’t recycle this old equipment but we do.
  • Modems, Routers & Switches – Crucial for internet connectivity, don’t throw them in the bin, save them up for recycling.
  • Mobile Phones, Tablets & Accessories – These items contain valuable minerals such as cobalt, lithium, and rare earth metals. Recycling helps recover these materials and reduces the demand for virgin mining.
  • VoIP Handsets & Conferencing Devices – Used for digital telephony solutions, these devices unfortunately get thrown out if they aren’t compatible with your new phone system and have little resale value, let us recycle them for you.

Enterprise IT, Commercial Hardware & Data Centre Equipment

  • Racks & Server Cabinets – If you are upgrading, moving or shutting down your data centre or communications room and don’t know what to do with your old server racks and storage, we can recycle them along with any other electrical equipment and cabling that is left over.
  • Audio-Visual Equipment – This includes projectors, screens, speakers, and any video conferencing tools.
  • Security & Surveillance Systems – Used in corporate and commercial environments, these devices include CCTV cameras, biometric scanners, alarm systems and associated wiring.
  • Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminals – Essential for retail transactions, POS systems integrate hardware such as barcode scanners and payment processors, all of which can be recycled at the end of their life cycle.

For businesses that require secure data destruction, we offer a dedicated hard drive shredding service. Our process includes recording the serial number of each storage drive before it is securely destroyed. This service is ideal for businesses dealing with highly sensitive information in industries such as finance, healthcare, and government sectors.

  • Hard drive destruction is charged per device.
  • A certificate of destruction can be provided upon request.

Other eWaste Categories

  • Cables, Power Supplies & Adaptors – These items contain copper, aluminium, and plastic insulation materials that can be recycled efficiently. We also collect and recycle Cat5 and Cat6 networking cables, ensuring that excess structured cabling waste is processed correctly.
  • Toner Cartridges & Electronic Accessories – Printer cartridges contain residual toner powder and plastic that require specialised recycling to prevent environmental contamination.
  • Industry-Specific Electronic Equipment – This includes medical devices, laboratory equipment, and industrial machinery components that require certified disposal methods to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
